The Great House Project

This is my house.

It was built in 1900, and was unoccupied for the last 20 years or so.  I purchased it, along with the small cottage in back that is now my studio.
The cottage dates back to 1880, and had been empty
for about 10 years.

Restoring these termite-eaten shells has
been a lot more work and expense than I thought.
But the location is fantastic, and the
neighborhood is the best in Indianapolis.

This is what the house looked like when I bought it in late 2002.  It was pretty scarey looking, but I loved the proportions, the location, the views, the neighborhood, and the studio space.

Here is the restored front with my mutant sunflowers.

The downstairs bath was
pretty unappealing.

But it's much nicer now.
I am working on making
tiles for the shower.

Here is my front door decorated with a Christmas wreath and one of my cats peeking out the window.

This is the living room before work began.

Now the whole downstairs
is a big open space.
