I have a day job in healthcare information systems.  I took up ceramics several years ago to get some balance in my life.  After 8 or 10 hours in a cubicle staring at a computer screen, I just had to do something completely different.

I got my BA in English Literature.  I started out in Asian Studies, but was not dedicated enough in my youth to really apply myself to learning Japanese.  I did spend almost three years in Tokyo, and traveled a bit around Japan, Okinawa, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.  It was a real adventure for a convent girl from the midwest!

Since then, I have been almost continually taking courses in different subjects.  So far I have credits or certificates from the following institutions:

  • St. Mary's College
  • University of Notre Dame
  • Sophia University
  • Salem State College
  • Computer Learning Institute
  • Harvard Extension School
  • New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University
  • Sierra Nevada Community College
  • Massachusetts College of Art
